Sentient Hubs Awarded Integrated Ecosystem Modelling Platform for Westport Marine Science Program
The aim of the project is to create a transparent, repeatable, and auditable process for use of models in decision making process, and to develop advanced workflow automation for the complex environment models.

The parallel development of models and decision support workflows across many projects requires a shared platform to coordinate and maintain the various products being developed and to ensure holistic assessment of scenarios is made possible.
Westport is the West Australian Government’s long-term program to investigate, plan and build a future port in Kwinana with integrated road and rail transport networks. Westport is taking a science-based approach to better understand potential impacts and opportunities so that ecosystem health and resilience can successfully be protected for generations to come.
Westport has partnered with WAMSI to deliver a comprehensive research program that fills important knowledge gaps about Cockburn Sound’s ecosystem and marine life to inform a mitigation plan to offset any potential environmental impacts expected from the project.
𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 ‘𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴’ allows diverse models to ‘talk’ to each other. The integration of independent data, models and platforms through Sentient Hubs eliminates a lot of manual interventions, providing a more accurate picture for decision makers. Complex processes that previously took weeks and months to configure can now be automated through highly customisable workflow wizards
About Sentient Hubs
Sentient Hubs is a collaborative Decision Support Platform improving outcomes for society, the economy, and environment. Our mission is to improve outcomes by anticipating cascading impacts and consequences across systems-of-systems.
Visualise, quantify and correlate complex inter-dependencies between dynamic factors like population growth, climate change or pandemics, against demand for transport, energy and water resources.
Built on 30 years’ UWA environmetal science, and 15 years’ technology development, it’s considered a breakthrough in integrated simulation and ‘system-of-systems’ orchestration and optimisation. It is dynamic, interactive and holistic.
